Driving Licence
The good news is that we can continue to drive our cars when we become Seniors, until we are 65 years old when the following from the Singapore Police Force website applies:
Is there any age limit for a particular class of driving licence?
Except for classes 4A, 4 & 5, there is no age limit for other classes of driving licences. The statutory upper age limit for classes 4A , 4 &5 licences is 70.
For classes 2B, 2A, 2 , 3A* & 3* licences, drivers who are 65 years old (date of birth) and every 3 years thereafter (ie 68, 71, 74, 77 etc) must be certified medically fit to drive by the Registered Medical Practitioner at any private clinic or Government Polyclinic .
For classes 4A, 4 & 5 driving licence holders, will need to take a medical examination annually at any of the Government Polyclinics, as well as a driving proficiency test before attaining 65 years old and there after (ie 66, 67, 68, 69).
Category 2 : Motorist above 65 years 0ld (for class 2B, 2A, 2, 3A* & 3* driving licence) : Renewable at Traffic Police Headquarters and Singapore Post outlets. Medical examination* at any private clinic or Government Polyclinics is required for motorist age 65 years old (date of birth) and every 3 years thereafter (ie 68, 71, 74, 77 etc). The successful medical examination form has to be submitted to Traffic Police HQ before the respective date of birth of the licence holder.
* The Medical Examination Form will be sent to us 8 - 10 weeks before our 65th birthday. Class 3A & 3='automatic' & 'manual' cars respectively.
